Modelling of the Hand-Foot-Mouth-Disease with the Carrier Population

Ruzhang Zhao, Lijun Yang

Abstract—This paper focuses on the modelling of the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) with people carrying the pathogen. HFMD has become widespread in China, and the Chinese public health has been seriously threatened. The modelling of the HFMD has already taken several aspects into consideration but in the traditional modelling of infectious disease, the people who are not infected but carry the pathogen are ignored. In this paper, the “carrier” is included in the modelling of the HFMD and the newly developed model is proved to play a key role in the modelling and stability analysis of the HFMD.

Index Terms—HFMD, carrier population, SIRC model, stability analysis.
